SALE INFORMATION

We will be holding a Friday evening auction on September 5th at 6pm. This sale will include property from the immaculately restored Victorian home, Brookbound, in Claverack, New York.

This house was meticulously restored for twenty years by its current owner, and we are pleased to offer the majority of its contents. While most of the property is Victorian, there are also Modern and Contemporary works of art, including some paintings by Maurice Grosser, as well as an etching by Man Ray. The furniture collection includes a Gabriel Vairdot Armoire of Japanese taste, a Gillow Fretwork Desk of Chinese taste, some pieces by Herter Brothers, and also a collection of W.A.S. Benson lighting. Among the pottery and porcelain, there is a fine pair of “Cloisonné” plates designed by Christopher Dresser for Minton’s, and a Minton’s Studio Pottery umbrella holder with elephant head handles, as well as other English Aesthetics Movement pieces. The 20th Century Art Pottery Movement is represented with interesting works by Kim Dickey, Gary di Pasquale, Phillip Mayberry, Jeff Oestreich, Tom Rippon, Piet Stockmans and Bruce Winn, among others. An amusing mug entitled “Mork” by Robin Williams will also be included.

All purchases are subject to a 17% buyer’s premium discounted to 15% for cash or check.
