The Age of Elegance: A New York Townhouse Designed by Diamond Baratta

Napoleon III meets Queen Victoria in the lavishly decorated interiors of this New York City townhouse designed by William Diamond and Anthony Baratta. We are pleased to offer furniture and decorations from these interiors in a single-owner sale on September 19 at 11am online only. Diamond Baratta’s  attention to detail and  chic grandeur hark back to gilded days gone by with a nod to 1980s-luxury.  Highlights include a Louis XVI Ormolu-mounted Parquetry Secrétaire à Abattant signed by the maître ébéniste Jean-Baptiste Vassou, a pair of Large Chinese Mandarin Palette Porcelain Ginger Jars mounted as lamps, and a Victorian Black Lacquer and Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Painted Side Cabinet with a painted marble top, as well as an array of giltwood mirrors, French and Continental furniture and Aubusson-style carpets.
