An
eOnline Sale - A Smashing Success
Stair Galleries'
3-week online auction on Sothebys.com, which featured property from
the Elizabeth Arden Corporate Collection, the Arnold Levy Chinese Textile
Collection and art and memorabilia from the Estate of Frederick W. Hughes,
was a resounding success.
Action started slowly the first week but gained momentum in the closing
days of the auction. Successful bids flew in from around the globe;
an outstanding inlaid George III writing table is headed back to Great
Britain; Andy Warhol's "Paris Review" poster is going to Paris,
France; a peanut sack from President Jimmy Carter's farm in Plains,
Georgia was purchased by a Zurich collector and an exhibition poster
signed by Julian Schnabel is on its way to Hong Kong!
Two of the lots offered during the auction which attracted great interest.
