London, Constable, 1930-1938. 8VO. Green cloth. Spines slightly darkened. 1 of 25 copies - on this copy the inscription reads: "This is William Maxwell's copy and therefore a very special one. G. Bernard Shaw - Malvern, 1930." William Maxwell was the director of R.&R. Clark printers in Edinburgh. They printed this set and many other Shaw works.

Captures early aviation during the first decade of the twentieth century. Most are labeled H.A. Farnham - Washington, D.C. Size: 3 ¼ x 4 in. (1). Early Flight, 44 slides directly related to early flight, including gliders. Includes planes and gliders in flight, on the ground, with groups of people etc. The Wright Brothers are well represented but also includes Glenn Curtis, Alberto Santos-Dumont and John Joseph Montgomery. Images include a number of unusual rail apparatuses designed to launch gliders. There are also 8 slides of balloons and dirigibles; 2 carrying gliders. (2). 5 slide show military hardware. (3). 15 slide show plans and early concepts of flight, i.e. Da Vinci.
