Paris, 1893. Photo - 2 7/8 x 4 in. on card - 4 3/8 x 4 3/8 in. Scattered foxing. 47 albumen prints mounted on cards. Each showing wrestling holds. Holds are shown in a series from beginning to end. Photographs are in two frames. Text in French (ink) describing holds. Provenance: The Collection of Paul F. Walter, formerly at 420 Ox Pasture Road, Southampton, New York.

Folio, pictorial lacquer boards with morocco spine. (1) Handcolored albumen prints - 88 small albumen prints - most are 3 5/8 x 5 3/8 in. 30 are scenic; 22 are temples and other buildings; 22 are women; 14 are assorted subjects. (2) COLOR WOODBLOCK PRINTS - 28 prints glued at the corners - 24 are of women. Most are 14 x 9 in. Provenance: The Estate of Cynthia Phipps.

Lot #144: SOUTHEAST ASIA PHOTO ALBUM
Circa 1880's. 105 albumen prints and 85 silver prints. 2 of the albumens have torn corners (pieces present); some have minor wrinkling in the corners from glue. Overall the photos are in good condition. Locales include Burma, Singapore, Java, Siam, Hong Kong, Canton, Shanghai and other locations in China. Many river scenes including the Irrawaddy River. Also includes portraits, street scenes, mountains and temples. Photos are in many sizes - 21 of the albumens are 8 x 10 in. or larger; 15 are 6 x 8 in. or larger; 59 are 4 x 5 in. or larger and 10 are smaller than 4 x 5 in. With few exceptions the silvers are small. 2 are 3 1/2 x 15 3/4 in. Postcard panoramas of Hong Kong and 2 are 4 x 6."

Most are L.P. 19 photos are not captioned - most appear to be of Paris. 34 are by Fratelli Alinare and include 10 of Venice, 7 of Genoa, 3 of Milan and 14 others. Most are backed with thin linen and are in very good condition.

London, Bernard Lintot, 1721. Folio. Two engraved potraits (small stain on Urry's portrait), engraved title and 1/2 page illustration before each tale. 1/2 brown morocco. Some rubs. Corners chipped and staining to part of cloth on front board. Internally a nice copy of this important edition.
