An important record of the last great council of chiefs. In addition, a first hand account of Custer's battle at Little Big Horn by his surviving scouts and chiefs who fought in the battle. Minor paper loss at the bottom of the pages to page 9. Brown pictorial cloth, an unusually nice copy.

An important commercial book that greatly influenced the path of American business development. Alexander Hamilton owned a copy of the 6th edition. License leaf present. Bound in contemporary calf. Front board detached. Spine shabby. Provenance: John William Draper's copy, with his signature on the front pastedown. Draper was a pioneer in American photography and is considered the father of portrait photography and astronomical photography. In 1840 he entered into a partnership with Samuel F.B. Morse.

Lot #70: INDIA AND JAPAN PHOTO ALBUM - 72 ALBUMEN PRINTS - ALL BUT 2 ARE LARGE SIZE.
India - 50 black and white albumen prints and 2 of Hong Kong. Although not signed - probably by Samuel Bourne. Japan - 20 photographs of Japan - 16 are hand colored. Housed in a black lacquer and mother of pearl album.
