calibrated for "Morning New York," "Afternoon
Alexandria," "Evening Island of Borneo" and
"Night New Zealand," signed "Richard Melvyn,
Maker to (the Crystal Palace) and date (obscured), London,"
15 in. square. Richard Melvyn was active in making sundials
from 1843-51 in Scotland, England and Ireland.
