American painter and printmaker Allan D'Archangelo studied
painting in Mexico City from 1957 - 1959 under the terms
of the G.I. Bill. His reputation as a Pop artist was set
with his 1963 New York show where he first displayed his
acrylic paintings of the American highway and industrial
landscapes. His work is in the Empire State Collection and
the Whitney Museum of American Art as well as many other
museums throughout the United States.
John
Goodyear had his first show in New York in 1964. He was
invited to teach at Rutgers and filled the position vacated
by Roy Lichtenstein. In the '70's he received a fellowship
to study with Georgy Kepes at MIT. During the '80's he worked
on major public sculpture projects. In the summer of 2000,
his work was the subject of a retrospective exhibition at
the Michener Museum in Pennsyvania. His work is in the collection
of the Guggenheim, the Whitney, MOMA and the Met as well
as collections around the globe.
