Cast plaster approx. 68 1/2 in. tall on an integral base. Note: "Sylvan" was the first sculpture commissioned for the 1st outdoor sculpture park in America. Brookgreen Gardens was created by the artist Anna Hyatt Huntington and her husband Archer in 1931 as a non-profit corporation to preserve the native flora and fauna and to display American figural sculpture. The gardens are designated as a National Historic Landmark and the collection includes over 1200 works by 350 artists.
