Anthony Baratta: The King of East Coast Chic

“Anthony Baratta, is one of the most celebrated and respected interior designers of the day with a global following of loyal fans. He is known for his bold use of color and scale that honors tradition while defying predictability.

His design work has graced over 70 magazine covers worldwide and he has received consistent coverage in respected shelter and media brands such as Architectural Digest, World of Interiors, Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Cottages and Gardens, Luxe Magazine, Veranda, Coastal Living and World of Interiors. His own homes have appeared in the New York Times Magazine on three separate occasions.

Anthony Baratta’s collaboration with William Diamond has been celebrated in the Cooper-Hewitt Museum’s National Design Triennial: Inside Design Now. He was named one of the Traditional Homes “20 Design Icons” and awarded Benjamin Moore’s coveted “Hue Award” for lifetime achievement in design.

He has designed fabrics for Lee Jofa, carpeting for Stark Carpet, a collection of over forty pieces of furniture for Thomasville, Bedding for Wildcat Territory and must recently a new collection of rug designs for Americas 100 year old classic rug manufacturer Capel Rugs.

Currently, the firm is decorating Drumthwacket, The New Jersey Governors Mansion in Princeton New Jersey. It is a great honor for him to be involved with such a historic property.

In 2019 Anthony designed his first fashion collection for the venerable Italian company, Weekend Max Mara. It has been critically acclaimed and has been featured in publications worldwide.

In an unprecedented event, Anthony has become “Designer in Residence” at Colonial Williamsburg, America’s great living museum in Virginia. He has decorated the Palmer House circa 1755, where he currently lives part time. Being the preeminent designer known for his American distinctive style, it is a perfect fit for this most American of places.

Baratta, a graduate of Fordham University has coauthored 2 books:
The Exuberant Style of William Diamond and Anthony Baratta and Diamond Baratta Design. He is working with Rizzoli on his third book, which is to be released in spring of 2020. This year marks the 38th Anniversary of Anthony Baratta career in designer.

He has an active social media audience of over 25,000 followers on Instagram and 30,000 on Facebook who he continues to delight with images of his over 38 years of interior design.”
