African, Oceanic and Southeast Asian Art Formerly from The Collection of John B. Elliott
We are pleased to offer the Collection of John B. Elliott on Friday, September 20 at 11am. This Collection of Ethnographic art and objects is part of a larger collection formed by the notable American collector, John B. Elliott of New York, who donated many significant objects to The Metropolitan Museum and Princeton University. Highlights include an unusual Songe Wood Bellows a Cameroon Grassfields Beaded Elephant Headdress and a West African Brass-Studded Leather Powder Flask. Also included are a Maliian Archeological Bronze Bell and Bracelet, a group of Indonesian Woven Baskets, a Sepik River Woven Crocodile, and an Indian Cowrie Shell Warrior Mohnei Body Cloth.
