Since its founding in 1984, The Chinese Porcelain Company has remained at the pinnacle of taste and connoisseurship in the world of art and antiques. Stewarded by Pierre Durand and Khalil Rizk, the gallery’s focus has been on quality above all, from Old Master paintings to European furniture, Venetian glass to contemporary artisan-designed objects and Asian works of art. Durand and Rizk were true connoisseurs, both with a keen eye for special works of art and interested in the history of each object. Together, their partnership created one of New York’s most prestigious venues for sourcing rare and beautiful fine and decorative arts.

Furniture highlights include a Fine Pair of Louis XVI Painted and Parcel-Gilt Fauteuils a la Reine and an Empire Mahogany Fauteuil de Bureau, both stamped by Henri Jacob, a suite of North Italian Neoclassical Painted Seat Furniture, a handsome Regency Mahogany Grecian Library Armchair and a Fine Pair of Louis XVI Ormolu-Mounted Mahogany Consoles, Attributed to Adam Weisweiler

Highlights in the Fine Arts include a series of 17th century works on paper by Nicolas Robert depicting birds and waterfowl, a lovely selection of French works on paper, and Contemporary works by Chinese artists Chun-Yi Lee and Zhang Hong.

Decorative Arts highlights include a Chinese carved Lingbi scholar’s rock on stand, pair of Chinese tea dust glazed Hu form vases, a carved and silver-mounted coco de mer, and Japanese bronze okimono of Himalayan brown bears.
