In our April 25th auction, we will be offering property from the Estate of Joseph T. Butler, Tarrytown, New York. Mr. Butler was a curator, connoisseur and recognized scholar in the world of antiques, as well as the author of several books on American antiques and collecting. The collection we have on offer provides insight into Mr. Butler’s diverse interests and also to the breadth of his knowledge in different fields of study. The collection comprises, but is not limited to, American decorative arts, neoclassical furniture, and American paintings, including works by both Charles and Maurice Prendergast; and an eclectic mix of European, Asian and Ethnographic artifacts and sculpture.
