Works by Jacques Villon from the Collection of Jacquelyn Miller Matisse
Related by marriage to the Matisse family, works on paper by Jacques Villon descended through his siblings, Suzanne Duchamp-Croti and Marcel Duchamp, to the son of Teeny Duchamp, Marcel’s wife whose first husband was Pierre Matisse. A large group of prints by Villon are included in The Matisse Legacy, Part II on February 23, including early figural works and Cubist compositions. All come with the impeccable provenance of the artist’s estate, by decsent through the Duchamp and Matisse families.
