Spanning the 20th and 21st centuries, this sale offers paintings, works on paper, sculpture and photography from European and American artists working in modern and post-war modalities. Highlights include a sculptural chair by Donald Judd, photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe, Brassai and Andy Warhol, works on paper and prints by Alexander Calder, Jasper Johns and Brice Marden, paintings by Saadi Al-Kaabi, Loren MacIver, Irene Rice Pereira and Maurizio di Vincenzo. Sculpture highlights include Igor Mitoraj’s Luci di Nara bronze edition based on the monumental work installed at the British Museum, and work by Fumio Yoshimora, Emilio Gilioli, and Nam June Paik. We will again offer works sold to benefit Art for Access at Bennington College, including a sculpture by Castaneda and a work by Kenneth Noland. Also included are two large clay works by Peter Voulkos and a large Paul Chaleff bronze cauldron.
