The Matisse Legacy, Part II: Works from the Collection of Jacquelyn Miller Matisse
Part II of works from the esteemed family of Henri Matisse follows our successful fall 2022 sale of similar drawings, prints and books from the estates of Matissse, Jacques Villon and Raymond-Duchamp Villon, as well as inventory from the Pierre Matisse Gallery that includes prints by Joan Miró, exhibition catalogues and a small group of ethnographic objects. Also included are works from the estates of Marcel Duchamp and Alexina (Teeny) Duchamp. Other highlights include a Gaston Lachaise drawing, a plaster maquette by Aristide Maillol, a bronze by Raymond Duchamp-Villon, and a small painting by Sawako Goda titled Rrose Selavy.
