1st edition, 8vo. Original printed wraps. Ownership inscription on front wrap and title page, otherwise a fine copy. Entire book bound in cloth paper boards. V.I. Ivanov was one of the leaders of the Russian Symbolist movement and its principal theorist. This is a beautiful copy of a rare book.

1st edition, 8vo. A posthumous work, unfinished at Aleksandr Blok's death. Pictorial wraps, chips on the wraps. Along with a 1939 title by Viacheslov I. Ivanov. Title not translated.

Lot #23: (RUSSIAN PERIODICAL) "ZOLOTOE RUNO (LA TAISON D'OR" (GOLDEN FLEECE) - MOSCOW, 1908
Six issues of the very rare Russian literary and dramatic magazine. Issued between 1906-1909; Aleksandr Blok edited the literary criticism. Spine reinforced with tape. Text pages on poor quality paper and there are some chips and tears.

Illustrated by Dorothea Brady. 1 of 70 deluxe copies specially bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. Full cream morocco. Red morocco panels, with gilt illustration, inlaid on both boards. Spine very slightly soiled, otherwise fine.

Lot #25: (PROVENANCE) CARROLL, LEWIS, "PHANTASMAGORIA", LONDON, 1869
1st edition, 1st issue (with no mention of Alice on the title page.) Blue cloth with gilt Crab Nebula and Donath's Comet on the boards. Cloth faded, front free end paper loose. Rebacked. Provenance - Maud Cecil's copy - Inscribed "Maud Cecil from (musical notation) Xmas 1869". Maud Cecil was the daughter of Lord Cecil of Hatfield House. Carroll visited Hatfield House at Christmas time for a number of years. He told stories and gave recitals at the annual children's party. These story telling sessions were the basis for the early chapters of "Sylvie and Bruno". There are records of two presentation copies of Carroll's books to Maud Cecil - "Alice" and this title. Although this is not a characteristic Carroll's presentation - it may have been inscribed by Carroll. Title page has library stamp, "Hatfield House Library".

Monthly publication largely written by Ayn Rand. Includes 45 issues (of 48) of the newsletters. Volumes 1 and 3 are complete plus 16 loose issues. The "Objectivist" includes 31 issues of Volumes 5-8 (none complete) plus five loose issues. Lot also includes 13 pamphlets by Ayn Rand.
